[NOTE: this intro was written a long time ago for the text version of the Fraggle Rock Guide, so it's a little outdated. A new intro will be made when I totally redo the guide. - Sep. 3, 1996]
This guide is the culmination of months of recording all of the Fraggle Rock episodes and many hours of collecting, examining, and sorting all the information which they contain. It's been a lot of work, but it's also been a lot of fun.
Notes:
This guide is in two parts. First, there's the list of all the characters, places, and other things that have been cataloged so far. Then comes the actual list of episodes. In each episode entry there is a Special Appearances field (if any exist for that episode) which lists the names of any items from the first list that are seen in that episode. The exception to this pertains to characters like the main five Fraggles, who are all in nearly every episode. I may catalog these too eventually.
The first line of each episode entry has a set of numbers after the title. These stand for: (episode number from 1 to 96 / season number from 1 to 5 - episode number relative to the season). After this is the date on which the episode was first shown on HBO.
If the Muppet performer of a listed character is known, the performer's name is given in parentheses after the character's name in the List of Things. Also, the numbers of the episodes in which each thing appears or is mentioned are listed after the name in square brackets (unless it appears in most of the episodes).
It's important to note that the segments with Doc and Sprocket that are included in this list are only one version of the "Outer Space" segments of Fraggle Rock. These segments were produced locally in whatever country or region Fraggle Rock was shown in, so they varied widely. I only have access to the North American version of Fraggle Rock, so those are the segments that are listed here. If someone out there has copies of episodes from other countries and would be willing to help me out, I would be extremely grateful!
I've added a field to each episode titled "Principal Character(s)". I came up with this idea after realizing that I would say things like "Oh, that's a Red episode" or "that's a Gobo and Wembley episode". Some episodes don't fit clearly into such categories, so a lot of the entries have question marks in them. I'd love to hear others' thoughts on the subject.
New fields for the Dec. 1995 version of this guide include director and writer(s) of each episode, VTR (Taping) date, and song lengths (given in square brackets after each song name).
